ABOUT ME
My name is Mirco Lieber, and I was born in Slovenia. Since I was seven years old, music has played a significant role in my life.
I fell in love with the beautiful music of Slovenia at a young age. It’s what drove me to pick up the accordion, and it’s what has kept me passionate about my craft ever since. As a result, I have become a highly skilled concert musician, proficient in composing and teaching music. This childhood dream propelled me to diligently practice the accordion and even compose my first melodies, furthering my understanding of the intricacies and subtleties of music. Whether you’re interested in my performances or my teaching, I am committed to sharing my passion for music with you.
Over time, I developed an endless passion for music and teaching. I have been teaching accordion at a public music school in Slovenia from 1995 until 2017. Teaching music has always been important to me. To inspire children to music with the right methodology was and is a great challenge for me.
For about 30 years I have been teaching all types of accordion, such as diatonic, chromatic, and piano-accordion, also at pre-school age, and I have been leading an accordion orchestra.
At the Music Academy in Ljubljana, I completed the Master's Diploma in Classical Concert Accordion and the Bachelor's Diploma in Harpsichord.
I also completed the diploma programme in sound engineering at the SAE Institute.
Since 2015 I have been continuing my master's degree in harpsichord - concert subject with Prof. Wolfgang Glüxam and organ - concert subject with Prof. Wolfgang Capek at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. On 28.10.2021 I completed my master's studies in the class of Prof. Céline Frisch.
As an accordionist and music producer, I have recorded several CDs with my musical arrangements in Slovenia. I have played in various concert halls and have been a guest on radio and television in Slovenia, Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Meanwhile, I am active as a concert accordionist, harpsichordist, organist and chamber musician.
As a concert musician, I am passionate about connecting with audiences through the power of music. Having you join me on my musical journey would be an honour.
